Dear 6th Grade Families,

We're thrilled that orientation day is finally here! Tomorrow marks an exciting milestone as your child takes their first step into the RMMS community, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them with open arms.

Important Arrival Details

Please arrive ONLY during your child's scheduled time slot - this ensures we can give every family the personalized attention you deserve while maintaining the small group atmosphere that makes our orientation so special.

Building Access: Due to construction at our main entrance, please enter through the flag pole entrance. Don't worry about finding it - we'll have welcoming signs and friendly staff members ready to guide you to the right place!

Orientation Schedule - Tomorrow

8:30am - 10:00am

• Quick Schedule Reminder

You should have received your child's schedule by now. No need to stress if you're having trouble printing or accessing the portal - our guidance department will have hard copies available for any family who needs one. Your child's locker number is conveniently listed at the top of their schedule, and we've strategically placed lockers close to first period classes to make navigation a breeze!

What Makes Our Orientation Special

Your student will receive a number as they enter the auditorium, then embark on an exciting journey through four dynamic rotations, each led by our incredible National Junior Honor Society members and student equity team who are eager to welcome them personally!

The Adventure Includes:

• Energizing Gym Welcome: Fun icebreakers and team-building activities that will have students laughing and making instant connections

• Student-to-Student Insights: Current RMMS students share their favorite tips, memories, and what makes our school community truly special

• Memory-Making Photo Session: We'll capture those precious first moments at RMMS - perfect keepsakes for this exciting milestone

• Comprehensive Building Tour: Students will explore all the amazing spaces where learning and growth happen, ensuring they feel completely at home navigating their new school

After completing all rotations, families reunite in the auditorium for everyone's favorite part - locker practice time! This is your opportunity to work together mastering that combination, so your student walks into their first day feeling completely confident and prepared.

Important Note About Teachers

Please note that our teachers are still off for the summer and will return to work the following week. This orientation is not the opportunity to meet all of your child's teachers - that special moment will happen during our upcoming Meet the Teacher event! While some staff members may join us tomorrow, please understand that not everyone will be available during orientation.
