Update: 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony

Posted Date: 6/23/25 (5:28 PM)

Dear 8th Grade Families,

We hope this message finds you well. In coordination with the district office, we have decided to bring the 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony inside due to extreme weather conditions in the forecast to ensure the safety and comfort of all our students and families.

New Venue: High School Auditorium (Tuesday, June 24)

We know this is not what you envisioned for your child's special day, and for that we sincerely apologize. To accommodate our wonderful graduating class while maintaining a meaningful experience for everyone, we will be holding two separate ceremonies organized alphabetically by students' last names. Each student will receive three admission tickets to share with their family members.

Ceremony Schedule:

Ceremony 1 (Students with last names A-L)

  • Student arrival: 5:00 PM

  • Ceremony time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Ceremony 2 (Students with last names M-Z)

  • Student arrival: 6:45 PM (Report to the 1st Cafeteria)

  • Ceremony time: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Important Details:

  • Students will receive their admission tickets (admit 3) during tomorrow's periods 1 and 2 rehearsal

  • Students should report during the time designated for their last name

  • The ceremony will be live streamed for extended family and friends who are unable to attend in person

  • Please note: To ensure a smooth transition between ceremonies, it is essential that all students and families from Ceremony 1 exit the auditorium promptly after their ceremony concludes. This will allow the students and families of Ceremony 2 to enter and prepare for their celebration.

We understand this change may require some adjustment to your plans, and we deeply appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this transition. Despite the venue change, we remain committed to making this a special and memorable celebration of your child's remarkable achievements and their exciting transition to high school.

We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with you.

Warm regards,
